PICK OF THE WEEK
The Illusionist – The Illusionist is a genuine crowd-pleaser. The audience clapped when it was over, usually a good sign. I clapped, too. Edward Norton is terrific, as he always is.
Factotum – It might be news to some people in Hollywood, but there are good writers other than Charles Bukowski and Philip K. Dick. Anyway, Matt Dillon was terrific in the role, as was Mickey Rourke before him.
Crank – Crank is a classic, if you like the sort of high-speed, nasty, funny, sort of thing—which I do.
