Moneyball

I liked the movie just fine but not nearly as much as the book—which is great. The film goes for "realism" which is achieved by limited art direction, and the actors throwing away most of their lines, and the editor putting a few fumbled dialog takes into the movie.

50/50

Movies about illnesses like cancer are very tricky. I lost the love of my early life to cancer so I was a little agitated going to this film. It's supposed to be a comedy and it is funny in parts but I suspect a lot of people will avoid it. It's bad enough having to deal with cancer in real life.

Killer Elite

Old fashioned shoot-everybody-and-everything-up. Pretty good action, pretty bad dialog. Very well-promoted.

Abduction

Not as bad as I had expected, but not terribly good, either. Taylor Lautner is semi-believable as a troubled teen until the plot gets so absurd that Laurence Olivier couldn't have pulled it off.

What's Your Number?

I'm afraid the number for this film is zero. Zero good scenes, zero laughs.
