Jennifer's Body

I was expecting to really enjoy this because I absolutely adored Juno—but it felt like an unfocused and incoherent Heathers to me. Or Saw for girls—without the subtlety. I'm amazed that fans seem to have sniffed this one out, and didn't flock to theaters. The trailer seemed somewhat promising to me.

Love Happens

Feels like a two-hour pilot for a half-hour sitcom—which ultimately wouldn't get on the air. It's interesting to me how good actors can get caught up with pretty bad scripts and ill-conceived projects.

Whiteout

This could have been a pretty good TV movie—it if had a tighter script and a better director. In other words, wait till it gets to TV. Then watch it with relatively low expectations.

I Can Do Bad All by Myself

I like Tyler Perry's movies, but it seems to me he might be spreading himself a little too thin these days and yes, I get the irony of my saying that.
