Shrek the Third

My 9 year old Jack and I had a good time at the theater. This one is as funny and clever as the previous two. It's interesting that these animated sequels can be so good, as the live action ones seem to flounder.

The Valet

This is the best romantic comedy I've seen so far this year. It's a small French film though, so you may have a little trouble finding it.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End

Too much sword fighting, not enough Johnny Depp. Better than II, not as good as I. My order of preference among the big 3: Shrek, Pirates, Spiderman.

Mr. Brooks

I found mildly disappointing. Kevin Costner is fine but somehow the pieces don't really hold together. Somehow I think this would have worked better as a dark comedy that made it clear it was a comedy.

Once

This is one of my favorite movies ever about music and art. It's about a man and a woman who are going to practice their music even if they never make a nickel out of it and they have great passion for what they're doing. It's absolutely a delight.
