Night at the Museum

The reviews for this movie were mostly pretty bad and I have no idea why. It's a terrific family movie that's fairly inventive, and the performances are just fine and dandy. As I said, though--this is definitely a family movie.

We Are Marshall

Obviously the story of the crash of the Marshall football team plane and the resurgence of the university is a powerful one. The movie is a little flat, however.

Eragon

This is another case where the book is a whole lot better than the movie—unfortunately. The dragon & special effects are pretty cool and Jeremy Irons is pretty terrific. Unfortunately, he bites the dust about halfway through. I'm not sure where this one went wrong, but it did.

The Good Shepherd

A rare movie indeed, because it is as intelligent as a very good book about the CIA might be. The acting is fine throughout and Matt Damon continues to show tremendous range. Having said all that, this flick will be too slow-paced for a lot of people. It's also mildly confusing in that it jumps back and forth between the 40s and 60s.
