About the Movie

Crusading Detective/Psychologist Alex Cross (Tyler Perry) meets his match when he goes against the psychotic, mob hit man, Michael "The Butcher" Sullivan (Matthew Fox). As Cross investigates the hit man's gruesome murders, Cross vows to hunt down the killer if it's the last thing he does. However, Sullivan is a mastermind and continues to evade Cross while pushing him to an ethical breaking point as a cop and a father. As Cross closes in on the killer, he discovers evidence that points to the unimaginable—a revelation that could change everything. With unstoppable action, and unforeseeable twists, this suspenseful action thriller will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Tyler Perry (Alex Cross)

Born September 13, 1969, Perry is an actor, writer and director who is best known for his character Madea from such comedies as Diary of a Mad Black Woman and Madea's Family Reunion.


Has been writing plays since he was eighteen.

Matthew Fox

Born on July 14, 1966, Fox grew up on his family's ranch. Fox attended Columbia University in New York City and got hooked on acting after appearing in a few television commercials. One of Fox's most famous roles came in 2004, when he was cast as Dr. Jack Shephard on the television series Lost. While starring on Lost, he also appeared in such movies as Vantage Point and Speed Racer. In Alex Cross, Fox will take on the role of Michael "The Butcher" Sullivan, the deadly and clever serial killer who Alex Cross must stop.


Graduated from Columbia University with a degree in Economics. Raised in Wyoming on his family's ranch.

Ed Burns

Born January 29, 1968, in Queens, New York, Burns is married to supermodel Christy Turlington. An actor and writer, Burns's first movie appearance came in the independent film The Brothers McMullen, a film which he wrote and starred in. Burns continued to write and act in his own movies while also appearing in big budget films, the most notable being Saving Private Ryan. In Alex Cross, Burns will play the role of Tommy Kane, Alex Cross's partner.


Is a middle child. Has a degree in English from Hunter College.

Jean Reno

Born on July 30, 1948, Reno is a French actor known for his tall, hulking build. Because of his large frame, at the beginning of his career Reno played many villainous roles but has since appeared in romantic comedies and action movies as well. He splits his time between Paris and Los Angeles where he owns homes, living with his wife and children.


Turned down the role of Agent Smith in the Matrix to do Godzilla.

Rob Cohen

Born on March 12, 1949, Rob Cohen has produced and directed films in Hollywood for over thirty years. Previously, he has directed such blockbuster movies as The Fast and the Furious, xXx, and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. Cohen will now turn his directorial skills to Alex Cross, as he brings to life this third movie about James Patterson's unforgettable detective, Alex Cross.



Graduated from Harvard University. The father of triplets.

Giancarlo Esposito

Born on April 26, 1958, in Denmark, Esposito moved around with his parents for the first several years of his life until his family settled in Manhattan where he grew up. At the age of 8, Esposito appeared on Broadway as a slave child in Maggie Flynn. Following this appearance, he continued to appear on Broadway, eventually moving in to television work in the 1980s. Esposito's breakthrough role came in 1998 when he played Agent Mike Giradello on the TV series Homicide: Life on the Street. In Alex Cross, Esposito will play Daramus Holiday.


His mother was an opera singer. Won two Obie Awards for his performances in "Distant Fires" and "Zooman and the Sign."
